Chasing

Chasing is a method used to cut neat channels in concrete or masonry, called chases. The chase is formed using a hand-held grinder utilising a diamond blade, or a more specific machine utilising two such blades.

Dust is easy to control when chasing, as dust hoods with a vaccuum can be attached to the grinder to reduct dust contamination in the work area, as such this technique is quick and relatively dust-free Used to cut chases for conduits and pipe-work in walls, floors and ceilings, it is suitable for all types of concrete, brickwork and blockwork.
